- AIRFORCE 92 MM PWM the cooling of the radiator is optimized by its pwm fan (4 pins). what does pmw mean? it is short for "pules width modulation". unlike standard fans (3-pin) whose rotation is constant, pwm technology allows for faster or slower rotation depending on the needs of your system. to summarize, if your system needs to be cooled then the fan will run at full throttle and conversely slower if the activity of your pc is low
